Tournament Format and Rules

1. Format

  • Modified scramble with six-man teams.

2. Player Tee Locations and Shot Selection

  • Tee Assignments:

    • Players A & B: Black tees

    • Players C & D: Gold tees

    • Players E & F: Blue/White tees

  • Par Threes: All tee markers will be in the same location; all players hit from the same tee box.

  • Drive Usage Requirement: Each player’s tee shot/drive must be used at least once on the front nine (holes 1–9) and once on the back nine (holes 10–18).

  • Shot Following Rules:

    • Players may not follow their own shot at any time except on tee boxes and the putting green.

    • Example: If Player One’s drive is selected, only Players 2–6 may take the second shot while Player One watches.

  • Putting Rules:

    • All players may putt if the ball is on the putting surface.

    • Players may not follow their own shot if putting from the fringe.

    • No gimmies. Do not tap in unless all other players have putted.

    • If a player taps in before others putt, that stroke counts, and remaining players do not get to putt.

3. Scoring

  • The “A” Player is responsible for:

    • Recording which player’s drive is used on each hole to verify compliance with drive usage rules.

    • Keeping the team score and tracking results for long drive, closest to the pin, etc.

  • Drives used should be marked with an “X” next to the player’s name on the scorecard for validation.

  • If a team is required to use a drive that is out of bounds or in a hazard:

    • The team must take the penalty stroke.

    • Re-tee if out of bounds, or drop from the staked hazard area.

    • After the penalty stroke is assessed, all players may proceed to hit.

  • Scorecards must be correctly totaled and turned in immediately after the round to the pro shop or a tournament committee member. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

4. On-Course Rules

  • Ball Placement: Place balls within 1 club length of the selected shot, no closer to the hole.

    • Must remain in same condition (rough stays in rough, bunker stays in bunker, etc.).

  • Lost Ball Rule: 3 minutes allowed to search.

  • Course Etiquette:

    • Avoid stakes and course obstructions.

    • Use cart paths when possible and take care of the course.

  • Relief Areas:

    • Relief permitted from ground under repair (white paint), roped areas, staked/protected trees, or standing water.

    • Drop at the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole, or at marked drop zones.

5. Tournament Pace & Cart Rules

  • Pace of Play:

    • Keep pace with the group in front of you.

    • Committee members will monitor pace and may issue reminders to maintain flow.

  • Cart Return:

    • Promptly return carts to designated parking after your round.

    • Do not drive to vehicles or stop for food/drinks until carts are returned.

    • Shuttle carts will be available to transport players to vehicles. The patio will be open for refreshments and socializing.

6. Additional Rules & Policies

  • Final Rule Authority: All rule decisions made by the Golf Committee are final.

  • No-Show Policy:

    • No-show players in Round 1 will be replaced with waitlist alternates.

    • No-shows in Round 2 will result in teams playing with five (or fewer) players.

    • The drive requirement of a no-show player will fall to the player ranked just below them.

      • Example: If the “D” player no-shows, the “E” player must use two drives on both the front and back nine.

    • Sunday no-shows will be suspended from future participation, except in emergencies as determined by the committee.

  • Rule Violations:

    • Any player or team found circumventing rules will be suspended from future participation and will forfeit all prizes.

  • Cart Policy:

    • NO personal carts allowed.

    • Tournament-provided carts only — NO EXCEPTIONS.
