The 23rd annual API Gumbo Cook-off scheduled for Saturday, March 28th is postponed. The Dickinson API board is following the recommendations of Governor Doug Burgum to cancel any events that consist of 50 people or more.
This decision did not come lightly but the health and safety of our members and the public are the first priority.
The board is currently working together to figure out a better date for the Gumbo Cook-Off!
Dickinson API Board
The Dickinson API is hosting our 23rd Annual API Gumbo Cookoff on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at the West River Ice Rink in Dickinson, ND. We are excited for the new venue, which will allow for more cooking teams, more space, and more FUN!!
Each company can choose between two booth sizes: 10’x10’ space, $200 or 10’x20’ space, $300. Booth spaces will be sectioned and draped and teams are still encouraged to decorate their booth space. Companies will have access to the cleaning area to wash all dishes. If you have any questions or requests please let us know. It is a first-come, first-selection for booth spaces.
All fun-filled actives include; appetizer competition (if you choose to participate), award for best decorated area/both, and of course the grand Gumbo Championship award.
Fun raffle drawing for all present and 50/50 raffle. The live music starting at 8:30 p.m.! Event is now 21 and over when open to the public.
Last years’ cookoff was another great success! Food, fun, and music made this an exciting night for everyone. Fourteen companies cooked their unique gumbo for the public. We had over 700+ attendees this year. All of the proceeds directly impact API scholarships and community organizations.
A huge shout-out to all the companies and the amount of work they put into this event. We also want to thank our judges, volunteers, and committee members for their efforts!
